The walk in closet in the lower level master suite is a funky little room. In order to meet the bylaws we needed to keep 3 feet clear in front of the electrical panel. Oddly enough in the house previously the electrical panel was side by side with the water pipes and had a whopping six inches of clearance in front of it, so yeah illegal as hell. 

We figured the best way to make it legal and get better use of the room was to make a little mechanical room, where there is panel access with the clearance needed and access to all the plumbing for upstairs and of course access to the clean outs so any plumbing issues in the basement could be deal with, without having to tear down any walls. Imagine that…
